When Water Removal Meets A Hard-To-Move Object In Buffalo Grove Home

When SERVPRO answered a call for water removal in a Buffalo Grove finished basement, we arrived ready to extract and clean. The water spill emanated from a broken supply line to a wet bar, and the sheetrock around the supply line installation showed signs of buckling from prolonged water exposure due to an undetected, long-term leak before finally breaking. Then we were able to use our extractors on the carpet and pull out water to get the carpet ready for drying.

We used a technique known as "floating" the carpet to dry both the padding and carpet from the bottom up to ensure complete removal of moisture. After drying, we cleaned and disinfected the pool table legs and other surfaces affected by water to ensure they were sanitary for the inhabitants of the home. The homeowner was elated he did not have to replace the carpeting or deal with moving his pool table out of the basement.
